The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated a renewed focus and commitment of hospitals and health systems to address health equity and eliminate disparities in care. Through the standardized collection and use of race, ethnicity and language data preferences, organizations are able to leverage data and analytics to better understand the unique needs of their patients, identify healthcare disparities and develop patient-centered performance improvement plans to support clinical and community health strategic planning.
