EQIC’s ADE work is designed to help hospitals implement best practices primarily around the management of high-risk medications, including insulin, anticoagulants and opioids, with the goals of reducing: overall ADEs by 13%, including insulin and anticoagulation adverse drug events; ADEs related to opioids by 7%; and opioid prescribing by 12%.
This workgroup provides a platform for hospitals to develop action plans to improve performance outcomes to meet these goals. Action plans will explore various opportunities for improvement to facilitate hospitals’ ability to take action and implement tools, resources and workflows to improve performance outcomes.
