This presentation in the monthly EQIC unit-based safety series will address the importance of understanding the key components necessary for any organization to aspire to be truly highly reliable. UBS is designed to support hospitals in implementing cross-cutting practices at the unit level to reduce a broad range of hospital-acquired conditions and promote safety across the board. This approach addresses reliable execution of safety practices by promoting improvement and standardization at the unit level, sustained through high reliability practices. The success of EQIC’s UBS process goals of communication, teamwork, leadership, healthcare equity and resilience will be more fully realized during the EQIC project with a better understanding of the integration with key high reliability organization principles.
The webinar will focus on an overview of the UBS model and its relationship to high reliability organizations. Specifically, Dr. Jones’ presentation will focus on the key components of an HRO, which include an understanding of:
