Reducing hospital-acquired pressure injury using a learning health system approach - Recording

Our unit-based safety Wednesday webinars continue to bring you cross-cutting practices that reduce a broad range of hospital-acquired conditions and promote safety across the board. This presentation will introduce and describe the use of a learning health system approach to decrease hospital-acquired pressure injury, sustain improvements and demonstrate a transition from use of retrospective PI data to real-time, actionable analytics for improvement.  

Participants will learn:

• iterative improvement initiatives that may result in decreased HAPI for sustained improvement;
• acute care setting workflow changes that may result in the documentation of confirmed and actionable HAPI data;
• technology solutions that provide actionable, real-time HAPI analytics;
• how the LHS framework, even during the challenges of crisis, resulted in research that informed the impact of COVID-19 on the incidence of HAPIs and the hospital’s pandemic response; and
• how to apply LHS concepts within their own organization to decrease HAPI.

EQIC invites and encourages the attendance of hospital staff responsible for unit-based safety, including key liaisons, pressure injury leads, CNO/CQOs, nurses, NPs, PAs, hospitalists, wound/ostomy providers, educators, patient safety managers, quality data analytics and quality improvement team members.
