Our second Opioid ROADE Work sprint webinar will feature Mathew Jared, MD, a hospitalist at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, who provided subject matter expertise and mentoring for the Society of Hospital Medicine’s RADEO Tools. Dr. Jared will overview and discuss best practices and guidelines for prescribing opioids, including strategies for dosing, tapering, dual ordering and avoidance of co-prescribing. Dr. Jared also will discuss key strategies for focusing attention of your care teams on the goal of reducing opioid-related adverse events.
After the webinar, hospitals will have access to tools and resources to streamline and strengthen workflows utilized in screening patients’ opioid risks and tolerance and prescribing opioids. EQIC project managers will assist hospitals progressing through their action plans, including training staff members on key content from this webinar.
EQIC encourages participation of key team members, including ADE and opioid initiative leads, nursing and pharmacy staff, hospitalists, care transition team and other clinical and professional staff members.
