The EQIC contract ended on Sept. 17. This website is no longer regularly maintained but contains many tools, resources and recordings from our programming that will be accessible through June 2025.
1 - 2 p.m.
Our fourth Opioid ROADE Work sprint webinar covers the emergency department, operating room and transitions of care as targeted areas for improvement in opioid prescribing. Faculty Drs. Jennifer Waljee and Joshua J. Lynch will review best practices for screening, identifying risks and prescribing for patients from the emergency department, as well as patients undergoing surgery. They also will review considerations for outpatient discharge planning and illustrate transitions of care best practices.
After the webinar, hospitals will continue to work on their opioid-focused project plan. Specifically, implementing appropriate workflows and screening tools in the ED, ensuring protocols for pre-surgery patient screening are in place and reviewing post-operative care prescribing. EQIC project managers will assist hospitals progressing through their action plans.
EQIC encourages participation of key team members, including ADE and opioid initiative leads, nursing and pharmacy staff, hospitalists, care transition team and other clinical and professional staff members.
